Qvests Founders

Eugene Kaganovitch, B.Ec., PhD, has more than 20 years experience in IT and the investment management industry in Australia. Prior to developing Qvests, he co-founded PortfolioServer P/L, a highly successful company which designed and built a modern Unit Registry System (URS) for fund managers and was subsequently acquired by Computershare Ltd.

After a number of years of observing the inner workings of the managed investments industry, Eugene developed the view that the industry is bearing the heavy cost burden of excessive intermediation and modern technologies can offer a better way of investing - through connecting investors - with each other, but also with professionals.

Mark Bytheway has more than 30 years capital markets experience, including work in investment banking, credit risk analysis - with international credit rating agency, Standards and Poors, and eight years in funds management, two as Director of Research, Asia Pacific, for an international investment management group.

In 2000, with capital provided by several financial institutions and private investors, Mark founded the Sustainable Investment Research Institute, (SIRIS, Australia’s first dedicated, independent ESG research group, providing coverage of Pan Asia securities, to local, regional and global investors, asset owners and global research groups.

Mark is a director KPX LLC, a US-based ESG analytics group, Renew (formerly the Alternative Technology Association), Australia’s leading NFP renewable and alternative energy advocate, consultancy and project group, Trustee of the Renewable Energy Development Fund, founding member of the UNEP Australasian SRI Advisory Committee and a former Trustee of the OXFAM CAA Ethical Investment Trust.
